Mitha Pukhuri, we all know the famous pond of the city Jorhat. But do you know the funny story behind its name ? I bet you don't. So here is the story, During the 1800 century, some people from Kohima (Nagaland ) came to visit Jorhat. During their visit, they ate some Amlokhi (Indian gooseberry) from the local amlokhi tree and then had water from the pond.
