The first graduate of upper Assam

Hello guys, how are you all? Hope you all are doing great. In this article we will tell you about the first graduate of upper Assam. Jagannath Barooah Yes, he was the one, Jagannath Barooah was the first graduate from upper Assam. In the year 1872 Jagannath Barooah completed Batchelor of Arts (BA) degree from Presidency College of Kolkata and became the first graduate of upper Assam. Therefore he was also known as BA Jagannath Barooah. Jagannath Barooah was born on 29 October 1851 in Jorhat. His father Hemdhar Barooah was also a very respectful person of Jorhat. After completing his degree,  he appeared for Civil services but later he changed his mind and started tea cultivation. And in a very short period of time , he became owner of several tea gardens like  Lekujan, Bosabari etc. Later, in the year 1902 the British honoured him with the title "Raibahadur" for his excellent work for the tea industry . Hello guys, How are you all ? Let's talk about Rajmao Pukhuri today. In the article we will tell you the other  name of Rajmao Pukhuri and also tell you the funny myth about the pond. Rajmao Pukhuri It is the largest pond of Jorhat. This historical pond is situated  in Krishna kanta Handique Road, near Jorhat Planetarium and in front of Jorhat Indoor Stadium. People come for morning and evening walk in the walking trails around the pond.
